Jessica Hudgins
Fur Artist
Hi, I’m Jessica! I’m a total nerd, newly married, and a proud pet parent to three cats and a chinchilla. Funny enough, I don’t have a dog of my own, which means I get to spoil yours like they’re mine! Before becoming a groomer, I worked as a waitress and then as an Animal Care Specialist at Petco. I saw my coworkers light up after attending a grooming expo, and I wanted that same spark, excitement and joy, in my career. So I pursued grooming, and now I love making pups look and feel their absolute best. Grooming has become everything to me. I can’t wait to meet your fur babies!

Q: What inspired you to become a groomer?
A: I was inspired to become a groomer because I’ve always had a deep love for dogs and wanted a hands-on career where I could make a difference in their daily lives that wasnt veterinary medicine. Grooming combines my passion for animals with creativity and patience, and it’s amazing to see the trust that grows between a dog and their groomer.

Q: What do you love most about your work?
A: I've always loved working with animals and being creative with my hands, so grooming felt like the perfect mix of art and animal care. Every dog is a new canvas, and I love transforming them while making them feel happy and loved.

Q: What’s your favorite kind of pet to groom?
A: Huskies and goldens are my favorites! I’m obsessed with a good husky deshed and love giving goldens that perfect fluffy outline trim. I also really like a good Teddy Bear head on a doodle!

Q: What’s one thing you wish every pet parent knew?
A: I wish every pet parent understood that when their dog hesitates at drop-off, it’s usually just nerves or separation anxiety, not fear of grooming or me. Once they’re inside and realize they’re safe, they calm down and do great. I always treat every dog with patience and care, and it’s rewarding to see them relax and trust me over time!

Q: Do you have any special skills or certifications?
A: I’ve completed several professional courses, including a Bather & Brusher course, an AKC S.A.F.E certification, and a Skin & Coat Type course. These have given me a solid foundation in grooming techniques, breed-specific coat care, and safe handling practices.

Q: What do you do when you're not grooming?
A: Spending time with my husband, playing board games with my buddies, and watching movies. I spend as much time as I can with my family and friends.
