Brandy Murphy
Founder and Guardian of the Fae
Hi! I’m Brandy Murphy, the founder of Feywild Grooming. I've spent most of my life working to understand animals, earn their trust, and help them shine.

Before I became a groomer, I worked as a professional dog trainer. That experience taught me the value of communication, emotional regulation, and patience — lessons I now carry with me into every grooming session. I’m also Fear Free Certified®, which means I use gentle, behavior-informed techniques to reduce stress and help pets feel safe, seen, and respected.

I specialize in working with puppies and dogs who need a little extra understanding. There's something incredibly rewarding about helping a pet who's fearful or unsure learn that grooming doesn’t have to be scary and watching them leave with a little more confidence each time.

Feywild Grooming is more than a business for me. I wanted to build a salon that felt calm, welcoming, and just a little bit magical. A place where pets aren’t rushed, groomers are supported, and every haircut is handled with kindness and care.

When I’m not in the salon, you’ll usually find me with my own dogs — training, competing, or working on my breeding program. I’m passionate about raising sound, well-rounded dogs who can excel as companions, sport dogs, and working partners.

In the long run, my dream is to grow Feywild Grooming into a collaborative space where groomers feel empowered to specialize, educate, and support one another, all while keeping the pet’s emotional wellbeing front and center. I want to make grooming better not just for the pets we serve, but for the people behind the table, too.

Q: What inspired you to become a groomer?
A: I started as a professional dog trainer, but I found myself drawn to grooming as another way to help pets feel safe, understood, and cared for. I wanted to create a salon where animals aren’t rushed or forced and we take the time to build trust and make the experience positive.

Q: What do you love most about your work?
A: I love helping pets who are scared or unsure realize that grooming doesn’t have to be stressful. Watching them slowly gain confidence...that’s the magic.

Q: What’s your favorite kind of pet to groom?
A: Puppies! I love starting them off right. But I also have a soft spot for the “tough cases”, the fearful or reactive pets who just need someone to listen.

Q: What’s one thing you wish every pet parent knew?
A: That grooming is a relationship, not just a service. It takes time, trust, and consistency for all pets with an emphasis on the anxious ones.

Q: Do you have any special skills or certifications?
A: I’m Fear Free Certified® and have a strong foundation in behavior and communication thanks to my years as a trainer. I also work with both dogs and cats and offer creative grooming for those who want a bit of flair. I also have my AKC S.A.F.E certification which means I have been evaluated for proper sanitation and safety protocols.

Q: What do you do when you're not grooming?
A: I spend time with my own animals and try to fit in as many fantasy books or games as I can! If it is a weekend and I am not in the salon, I am very likely at a dog event of some sort!
